Österr. Sprachen-Kompetenz-Zentrum

Österreichisches Sprachen-Kompetenz-ZentrumThe Austrian Centre for Language Competence (ACLC/ÖSZ) is a national institution dedicated to promoting innovation in language learning and teaching. The ACLC develops instruments and materials to enhance language skills, metalinguistic and intercultural competencies, organises networking projects to further the cooperation and communication of teachers, teacher trainers and political decision makers, and launches initiatives to boost innovative language development.
In close collaboration with schools, universities, national institutions as well as European boards and organisations, the ACLC is a driving force for advancement in language education and language education policies in Austria and in Europe.
The ACLC’s projects and activities are striving to foster the appreciation of and enthusiasm for both the linguistic and cultural diversities in Europe. One of the strategies employed by the ACLC in achieving these objectives is to help individuals learn more about their mother tongue(s) and foreign languages and thus to encourage them to invest their linguistic and cultural potential for their own personal development.
