Association for the documentation of languages and cultures of regional minorities
[spi:k] is actively involved in promoting regional minority languages, identities and cultures. In addition to working on linguistic issues, [spi:k] has increasingly extended its work to cultural, historical and educational topics relating to regional minorities. Since January 2009, the [romani] project has been integrated as a special focal point into the work of [spi:k]. Thus [spiːk] focuses on Romani as a European minority language, as well as on the socio-cultural and socio-political situation of its speakers in a pan-European context. [spi:k] aims to make the knowledge acquired in the course of the [romani] project available for other regional and minority languages.
